The West Oxfordshire Local Development Framework

• The future distribution of housing is one of the key challenges to be addressed in The Local Development Framework (LDF).
• The District Council's overall strategy states that in order to achieve the scale of new housing identified in the South East Plan (a minimum of 7,300 new homes), the principal focus for new development during the period 2006-2026 will be Witney with the provision of at least 3,000 new homes, new employment and leisure opportunities and associated infrastructure, services and facilities.
• A minimum of 40% of the South East Plan housing allocation for West Oxfordshire 2006-2026 will be met in Witney.
