The EWLC 'Vision' for East Witney is to:

• Deliver a sustainable urban extension that builds upon the proximity of the town centre;
• Seek to build upon and enhance the existing Cogges community
• Make use of existing transport infrastructure including existing pedestrian and cycle links across the Windrush Valley to the town centre and existing bus services
• Make a major contribution to transport infrastructure in West Oxfordshire through the provision of a Park and Ride site and an upgrade of the Shores Green A40 Junction, which will relieve traffic congestion in Witney. In addition, the proposals will make a significant contribution to sustainable travel patterns in the Cogges area by providing further cycle and pedestrian links across the river valley
• Provide new community facilities and services to support the needs of new and existing residents
• Creation of new and enhanced habitats including significant woodland planting;
• Provide new private and affordable housing in a variety of types and sizes to meet the needs of an integrated new community
• Deliver a scheme which demonstrates the highest standards of urban design, and incorporates best practice in sustainable construction, sustainable living and energy efficiency.
